Anesthesiology Department plays an integral role in patient care across multiple clinical conditions and specialties, not only during the surgery (anesthesia administration) but in planning for the surgery (patient’s fitness and high-risk assessment) and extended to manage continuity of care, post-surgery (enhancing safety and recovery). Department is a vital component of the cardiac arrest and rapid response teams in the hospital to safely transport patients from other hospitals/facilities/patient’s homes or within hospital premises, or to manage critically ill patients admitted in the hospital if their condition deteriorates.
